Amazing Clients

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to say congrats to Sherry. She cleaned for 3 sets and 5 reps per side the 53lb kb. Most of the time it was a single arm clean but when she was getting a little tired she 2 armed it. She never stopped and she kept her rhythm. Way to go Sherry!

Lovina is another hard-working woman. She is awesome. She is the oldest (no offense) of my clients performing with the KB's. She is 61 and looks like she is 40. Everyone is amazed by her. She is using the KB's to help with her golf game and it is working. Lovina consistently trains with the 18lb kb's. She is now using the 26lb kb and handling it very well. Lovina, you go girl!

Have a great day in training!

New Workout

Hey Everyone,

Well the KB workouts have led me down a road that I didn't think would or could travel. I have created a new workout for some of my male and female client's who use the KB's on a regular basis.

15 pull ups
15 push-ups or Hindu push-ups
10-15 knee to hand
30 sec 2 hand KB swing with 36 lb k or 53lb kb or 70lb kb

do for 3 sets..rest in between the sets about 2-3min..... then..

10 reps of clean and press with 36 lb kb...on each side.....Whew!

Brandon, Sherry, Thom,Keith...good job on the Man-Maker workout!

This started out to be a Friday workout which has quickly turned into a whenever we want to hit it hard workout.

More from Purpose Driven Life Calendar

Hey everyone,

Here are few more words of wisdom from the Purpose Driven Life calendar.

Every temptation is an opportunity to do good. On the path to spiritual maturity, even temptation becomes a stepping stone rather than a stumbling block when you realize that it is just as much an occasion to do the right thing as it is to do the wrong thing. Temptation simply provides the choice.

We are commanded to recognize his glory, honor his glory, declare his glory, praise his glory, reflect his glory, and live for his glory. Why? Because God deserves it! We owe him every honor we can possibly give. Since God made all things, he deserves all the glory.

Again...these passages have helped me in decision making and I hope that as you read this blog, it helps you as well.

Clients Inspiring Clients @ the Studio

Hey Everyone,

I have a firm belief that nothing happens by accident. I let God guide me in all my business and personal decision making. I have several client's that are inspiring each other to workout, again I don't think that this is by accident.

Lauren who is a fabulous mother and hardworking client has been inspired to workout by another client Sherry. This is where things get interesting...Sherry inspired Lauren...then Lauren has been inspiring people in her neighborhood and @ her son's school to become more physically active. Sherry routinely is challenging her co-workers to workout and to put down the stale Halloween candy. Clients at the studio are inspired by both Sherry and Lauren to become more active with their exercise routine...even to the point of actually coming in on their own to workout...without an appt!

Way to go! Sherry and Lauren!! Great work!

Now there is a bit of competition growing between my female KB client's. I cannot tell you how it makes me feel when a client sets a goal and then blows by that goal like its nothing! All of my female KB client's are working out primarily with the 36lb KB and some are even using the 53lb KB regularly. You women are strong, and very inspiring to me as a trainer. When I see you guys succeed and push and work, it actually makes me succeed, push and work harder in my own workout routine. Thank you for being clients and thank you for all of your hard work.

Now men of the studio...I'm not leaving you out....Thom inspired Brandon and Brandon and Thom inspired Lori to come in and join on the fun of training at the studio. Thom has increased his overall strength several times at the studio and tells everyone who will listen about his strength gains. Brandon is a workhorse. He and I have initiated a workout program called,"Man-Maker Fridays" where he and I have taken part of the "300" workout test and made it into a routine for us. WOW! Did it ever make a man out of us...if you would like to know more about it just call or e-mail at the studio.

Client's...have a great weekend for tomorrow we train!

GOD's Thoughts

Hey Everyone,

Here are a few thoughts from my Purpose Driven Life Calendar that Mandy gave to me for Christmas last year. I hope each of you reading this receives a message from this post.

God Loves to use weak people. Everyone has weaknesses. In fact, you have bundle of flaws and imperfections: physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual. You may also have uncontrollable circumstances that weaken you, such as financial or relational limitations. The more important issue is what you do with these.

"I am with you; that is all you need. My Power shows up best in weak people."
2 Corinthians 12:9 TLB

To become a real servant you are going to have to settle the issue of money in your life. Jesus said,"No servant can serve two masters.....You cannot serve both God and Money" (Luke 16:13 NIV) He didn't say, "You should not," but "You cannot." It is impossible. Living for ministry and living for money are mutually exclusive goals.

The Bible is very clear; God uses money to test your faithfulness as a servant. That is why Jesus talked more about money than he did about either heaven or hell. He said,"If you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?" (Luke 16:11 NIV) How you manage your money affects how much God can bless your life.

God has a different perspective on your weaknesses. He says,"My thoughts and my ways are higher than yours" (Isaiah 55:9 CEV), so he often acts in ways that are exact opposite of what we expect. We think that God only wants to use our strengths, but he also wants to use our weaknesses for his glory.

When I read these for the first time they made me think and look inward.

New KB Workout

Hey Everyone,

Here is a new KB workout that I picked up:

Turkish Get Up- 2 minutes switching sides every 3 reps rest for 1 min.
Then
Slingshot 30 sec
Then
Swings for 30 sec
Rest for 1 min
and continue for 3 sets

I used this on a few client's this week and boy did they feel it. I basically took this week off of KB training except for demonstrating the exercises for my clients. Bare in mind I have about 70% of my clients performing with KB and I work from 5a til 8p on most weekdays. So I still get a very good workout with the KB's if only I am demonstrating them. I look forward to working out with the 53lb and 70 lb KB this upcoming week.

I also received my Z-Health info this week and from what I read this is right up my alley. I look forward to the certification and using Z-Health with all my clientele.
