World Record Truck Pull!







Hey ya'll!






On November 1st 2008 my son and I witnessed history in the making. My good friend John Brookfield and his friend John Bruney pulled a 31 thousand pound eighteen wheeler for 1 mile! It took 90minutes for these two strongmen to accomplish the feat. Enjoy the video and the pics!

Record Setting Truck Pull!

Hey ya'll,

My good friend John Brookfield asked me to post this for everyone to come and cheer him on!

On Saturday November 1st in Fairmont North Carolina at 2:00 in the afternoon John Brookfield and Jon Bruney will be pulling a semi-truck the distance of one full mile for a World Record using only their physical strength and mental fortitude. John Brookfield and Jon Bruney have completed this one mile record truck pull several times before. However, this time they will be increasing the pulling load and pushing themselves to complete the one mile course as quickly as possible. Many are saying that this World Record test and feat may be the greatest physical accomplishment ever when it comes to strength endurance. Come out and walk beside them as they pull the semi-truck over the one mile course. Underground Strength Training @ Woodall's Fitness Studio








Here are some pictures from Wednesday's morning workout. Featured are two of my client's who are separated in age by 20 yrs. Stacy Johnson 40, and Drew Gammon 20. Both are highly competitive and both are client's that I really enjoy training.

This workout consisted of BattlingRopes, sledgehammer, KB's and stone training.

Woodall's Fitness Invades Knightdale, NC!






Hey ya'll,


On Saturday August 30, 2008 Woodall's Fitness Studio was invited to Knightdale by Regina Harmon, owner of The Total Connection Newspaper. The event was a 5k hosted by Master Jun Lee of Blackbelt World in Knightdale.


I demonstrated KB's to Master Lee and also did a BattlingRopes demonstration. Everyone at the race also had a free taste test of Rehydrate which is a great recovery drink after a run or workout.


Some of the pictures feature: Master Jun Lee of Balckbelt World, Pat O'Leary owner of Domino's Pizza in Knightdale and Cindy Blevins, owner of the Dance Center in Knightdale. Also featured in the pictures are some youngsters who did a great job on the ropes! Thanks to everyone who helped me setup!

Z-Health helping my client's!

Hey Everyone,

Just thought I would share this e-mail that I found waiting for me this morning. This is from Wendy who has made some great changes and amazing results with her training program. I introduced her to the Z-Health R-Phase in Feb. 2008 and when I cam back from the I-Phase certification from this past weekend, well.... I'll let Wendy tell it in her own words:

"Occasionally, since I have been working out, I have some aches and pains now and then. Luckily I have James' knowledge of Z-Health to help me out. Just the other day I was having trouble with my right knee. After a few Z-Health maneuvers I felt much better and was able to bend and squat without pain. I also notice more flexibility and better range of motion after warming up with Z-Health. My job requires allot of sitting and typing so I have incorporated some of the Z-Health moves when I need to get up and take a break. Thanks for all of your help James, you're a great coach!"

Just arrived back from my sister's wedding in FL! Had an awesome time!


At the beginning of the month I attended the RKC certification. What a hard experience! You will never hear me say the word "fun" when it comes to Pavel or the RKC. Great teachings and great people! Hard as hell! So to all of my client's if you wanted payback on me from all of the training that I give you...this was it!

Push Mow 2 Acres!


Hey Everyone,


Well I did another week of push mowing 2 acres at the farm house! Whew! I actually didn't mind it because I considered it a great workout. My son walked right along side of me and it only took about 4 hrs. If I hadn't taken my Muscle Fuel before the workout then I think I might not have lasted as long as I did.
Here is a picture of my lawn tractor that is on the blink.


Congrats to Shawn Manning on achieving her RKC! Way to go Shawn! Look forward to KB's in Wilmington!

KB's In Wilmington to Z-Health at Woodall's Fitness Studio


Hey Everyone,


Well the weekend didn't go quite as planned but turned out to be a great learning day for Tim and I. The Wilmington course was cancelled last minute but Tim and I made the most out our Saturday. We both practiced our "Z" on each other and worked on our assessments. We worked on muscle testing and assessing our S.I. joints as well. I couldn't believe that we spent 2 hrs on muscle testing and assessments alone! Time went by so fast. Anyway just wanted to update everyone on the weekend.


Shawn thanks for setting up the course in Wilmington. Next time I know it will be a hit.

What is a kettlebell?
A kettlebell is kind of like a cannonball with a handle.
Why are kettlebells so great?
Training with kettlebells can make you functionally strong from your head to your feet. In other words, they don’t just create muscles for show; they create muscles for action. They can increase your flexibility and give you the ultimate cardio workout. They can even help rehabilitate your body from old injuries. The best thing about kettlebells is that they make training fun.
What can I do with kettlebells that I can’t do with regular weights?
Kettlebells are not balanced like dumbbells. When you hold them they are off center, so your body has to adjust to the imbalance. Your whole body is constantly adapting and working while you are training with a kettlebell - it’s hard to isolate a single muscle group. You’re not creating weaknesses while you train. Sure you can do the same exercise with dumbbells, but it’s really not the same. And, it’s just not as fun.
Who should train with kettlebells?
Anyone who wants to be healthy. Anyone who hates doing cardio or aerobic exercise. Anyone who wants to add a new dimension to his/her workouts. Anyone who wants to be fit, lean and mean. Anyone.

Z-Health blew my mind!

Hey Everyone,

Well my clients today really benefitted from the Z-Health R-phase warm-up today. I had some really great results from everyone. Overall my clients felt worked out, without even getting their heart rates up! The neural re-mapping of everyone will be very interesting to see over the next two months.

Thank you to Dr. Cobb and Kathy..you guys are great and thanks again to Omar for use of his facility...maybe next time we can meet at my studio.

Wake Forest Conference


Hey Everyone,


I went to the North Carolina Strength Coaches Association conference at Wake Forest University on Saturday. Wow! What an experience. I met with and talked with the best in the ACC and in the industry.


Coach Reeves is the strength coach for WFU and man does he know his stuff! The weightroom was full of DB's, KB's Barbells.....No standardized equipment! Blew my mind but the proof is in the pudding.


The speakers included: Leo Totten, Allen Johnson, Zach Even-Esh, Dwight Galt, Scott Pucek.

It was a great honor to meet everyone and share knowledge.

More Encouraging Words

Whatever is at the center of your life is your god. When you committed your life to Christ, he moved into the center, but you must keep him there....Paul says,"I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts" (Ephesians 3:17 NLT)....When God's at the center, you worship. When he's not, you worry. Worry is the warning light that God has been shoved to the sideline.

Don't ignore that warning light. Just like a warning light in your car that tells you that something is wrong. Ask God for the strength to fix that warning light so you can avoid a catastrophe.

If you haven't heard, Sherry Eicher is now personal fitness training here at the studio. She is a client turned personal fitness trainer.
